Profit or Purpose: What Increases Medical Doctors’ Job Satisfaction?

چکیده

This study integrates two competing views to examine whether medical doctors are satisfied with their jobs when they perceive hospitals as being oriented toward profit (a hedonic view) or purpose eudaimonic view). Using a sample of 127 from 70 hospitals, this tests these views. The results show that who purpose-driven likely experience job satisfaction, and pattern still holds even if also emphasizing profits. However, the orientations perceived simultaneously, only orientation in satisfaction via sense meaningfulness. Thus, offers comprehensive evidence while be work at either profit-driven give Theoretical contributions practical implications discussed.
